Danny was a No Show, but not Jim!

Storm Danny only brought alot of rain and some wind. Jim Cantore was in Chatham doing his live report for the Weather Channel. He is so down to earth, kidding with the very small group who came out to say hi!! Took time to chat, told us that he had already enjoyed clam chowder for breakfast and lobster bisque for lunch!
Yup, that's me with Jim...my new BFF:)

Good timing!

Well, I was just starting my pick-up after Ty an dJennie left and of course, I stopped to read your blog, Amy. So......... here goes, 1. Jennie putting on her bike helmet and enjoying her new chair...and it looks like I set her there while I went shopping. 2. A photo to make Tyler look like he has an internet vegetable business. Last night we took the bike and bike trailer at sunset to check his aunt and uncle's garden. Rode home with bats flying above me. That part freaked me out, but I didn't let him know.3. The pile that wound up on the couch when I threw things down from upstairs. I enjoy throwing things over the railing to see if they land on the couch. AND Toys to be returned to the basement after the kids left.
4. Oh, that's where the smell is coming from.Time to rinse out the trash can...too lazy to hose it down outside....or excuse is it's sprinkling, nah,too lazy.Emptied the trash, but dirty diapers is the scent that lingers:)
(wonder if Glade is interested?) 5. That's the kitchen when it needs to be picked up. It can go from clean to nonclean in 2 min. 6. These are the vegetables that Tyler lined up before he left. 7. Doesn't everyone have crabby patties on their counter?
8. My basement wall covered with school stuff. Yup, won't part with it. Never know when a kindergarten bus will break down near our house and they need a place to wait:))
And after pictures, forget it. Just picture all the stuff put away!

No planes, but trains and automobiles!

On our weekly car ride back here from the bridge, we are stopping to check out things on the way. Last week some windmills, this week the little garden train display. They both loved it. Jennie has her own commentary about everything after tagging along for the past months. Tyler points out items of interest to Jennie in case she misses something. They are real buddies!
Later, when Ty was still sleeping, Jennie felt the need to sit in her chair with her bike helmet. Sat for about 90 seconds to catch a little Tigger and Pooh, then off and running again!

Storm Bill

It passed by us except for the big waves. A pretty sight, but the power of the ocean is to be respected. The Park Service here kept people back. Sadly at Acadia, there were only 7 rangers who tried to do the same when over 10,00 people tried to get a close-up look.

Now a 7 yr. old girl is gone and her parents hospitalized. The rangers at Acadia were trying to warn people.

Just chillin?!

Oh dont' we look like the grandparents who are enjoying a relaxing picnic in the park with the grandkids? We are , but there's a story behind this picture:)) Pep's car had to be pushed into the spot after it did the crawl and stall during the car show parade. Well, the spot turned out to be an advantage since we could use the front lawn of the bank. Jennie tried to pull off the downspout of the bank building , throw some rocks, hides rocks in her mouth..... grab as much food as she could and then spit it out on the blanket. Ah yes, with a so comfortable dewpoint of around 74,too! Too bad I had to bring the kids home...they missed the flatbed loading the car and delivering it to our driveway at 10:30. (sure the neighbors loved that) But Tyler did love the cars and could name the Corvettes and Mustangs as they drove by...quite impressive for 2 1/2! AND Thanks to the kids' great Auntie C. and Uncle B. for all their help. Despite all the added craziness, we still had FUN!!! And Katy, Jennie and Ty did share some of their ginormous cookies.Jennie's sharing pieces were already chewed, but it's the thought.

Take time to smell the flowers....

sometimes we need reminders of that. Remembering colleague and friend Kathy C. who passed away yesterday. A beautiful person who left way too soon.

To the Beach!

A fun afternoon on Pep's boat. James was an eager helper. He looks like an older kid until you spot the Lightning McQueen shoes! James and Pep love to jump the waves! Out like a light as soon as his head hit the pillow tonight!
