Ding Ding...lights out on Grandma....almost!

You will think I am exaggerating...I am not...... a very quick stop in KMart sporting goods section to grab a kid's life jacket(no luck registering a boat trailer today, so I figure I may as well make my trip worthwhile.)

There I am making my way around the corner and this is what comes so close to me that I hear the WHOOOOOOSH right near my face! A big guy wearing a boxing glove was just horsing around ready to air punch his friend. I bust out with something that sounded like "YAAAAAAAA" as I ducked and veered out of the way and heard a surprised "oooh I'm sorry!"

I didn't stick around to chat...instead hustled to the checkout and out of there!
Oh, that would have been a broken nose....and a few teeth knocked out for sure.
(did kinda impress myself with my quick duck and veer abilities however:) but I don't want to need them again!

They could do this for hours!

I'm thinking we should put one in our yards Katy! Love hearing their giggles!

Off to Agway. Their bottoms were soaked in about 2 seconds because the pad in the wagon was wet. Luckily we were heading to their house and we had plenty of clothes in the car....quick change in the parking lot!

Jennie "picked" her flowers ...literally. Tyler's are yellow and Jennie's are green for now with the purple flowers on the floor of my car:)

Ty said if you forget to water them it's "no big deal" if it's going to rain. Tyler are you sure you're only 3? Between that and using words like"otherwise" and "actually"....I'm not so sure!

Earth Day hike

James and I took a nice hike this morning and brought a bag along in case we saw some trash. We couldn't even find one little piece of litter! We were happy about that!

James likes his fresh fruit...this week lots and lots of strawberries and blackberries on Kix!

James carries on my Dad's name proudly and I always tell him about the great Daddy I had who loved to sing, said funny things, and was a good guy to everyone he met. He left us way too soon at age 56.

But for some reason having Earth Day the same day as his birthday ,I can imagine he probably said something like this back in 1970..."What the hell is Earth Day?"

The theme was "Elmo Grows Up" and the kids had to shout out what they'd be when they grew up. Tyler said "robot" and James said "hunter". Jennie was taking it ALL in! uh oh.... I think this kid is being questioned by the balloon police for not properly stowing his balloon under the seat....as Big Bird suggested.Jennie gets ready for the show:)

On the way to the show.James has his 1st T ride. ty and Jennie ride it every week and know the stops! The now famous $10.00 Elmo balloon. Here, Katy is thinking of all the other things she'd do with 30 bucks!

An Elmo Hangover!

...is what we're all feeling today! A fun time had by all...however, this is the part that had Katy and I rolling our eyes and more. Intermission involves the balloon vendors coming down the aisle with bunches of balloons resembling the house from the movie "UP". We had said to the kids we were here to see the show. Just as Katy and Amy predicted, Pep would feel that they all needed a giant Elmo head.lmagine bringing 3 giant Elmo heads on the return ride involving 2 train rides, a luckily short stuck in the tunnel due to a train breakdown episode....followed by a walk home from the T station. In spite of it all, Jennie was ready to party when she got home and the kids were all happy!

Ty announces he is afraid of friendly monsters. Wonder if the surprise of Elmo Live this weekend is going to be all the fun we had hoped for?

Well,yup, we actually owned them back in the 70's.

Kel, not sure your mom will remember or admit to these being in our house!

BUT I think your grandfather actually ordered them...which we all laughed about!!!! :)

I don't think he ever wore them, I do remember him cracking up when I put them on! Of course I had to try them. You pumped them up w/ this little pump, so that you'd be all hot,uncomfortable, and sweaty when you were exercising.

What kind of exercising could you do wearing these?! You'd be arrested if you went outside. I do remember doing jumping jacks w/ them on and I do remember trying to peel them off after because the sweating part was true!!!!

Not a frequent sight!

a former student posted this when she saw it on a bike path. "To the woman I yelled at when her dog chased me last Saturday around 10 or 11 a.m. somewhere near here, I am sincerely sorry."

and ticks! Depsite the stomach bug for Jennie, then Katy, then James and a tick bite for Tyler we still managed to have fun. And our attempt at a quick picture. Maggie with a Super Soaker(nice infant toy?) and James with a life vest in the house....maybe more of us needed to wear life vests inside!!
